New Year - Clean Start

Well, the Driskell family started the New Year by cleaning! Since we came home from Christmas with plenty of new things, we had to get rid of some old things. Goodwill liked us, as we brought them 3 or 4 different loads of donations the week after Christmas! One of the things we did in the girls' room was to organize a little better. We've had an old armoire that has been a useful piece of furniture throughout the house. It has been in the bedroom as a wardrobe, it has been in the living room as an entertainment stand, and for the past year or two, it's been in the girls' room as their toy cabinet. And, although we love that armoire, it really hasn't worked well for the girls to keep everything organized. So as we were cleaning out, we shopped around for something else that would help keep their room more manageable and organized. We ended up buying two small new shelves for the girls. One is a cube shelf that we added colorful baskets to, and the other is a small shelf with doors to put their longer games and puzzles in that won't fit in a cube! We also added some hooks for coats, bags, and other misc. hanging items. For those really big items, we bought large, low tubs that slide under their beds! Everything has a place! It has made their room more open, clean, and girly looking! It's nice starting the new year with a fresh, clean look!

By the way, that old armoire is now being used in our kitchen as a hutch! Don't you just love versitility!
