Grammy's Visit!

Last weekend we were blessed with a visit from "Grammy" and Uncle J!  "Grammy" flew in from Texas on Thursday and spent a long weekend with us playing and having fun.  Uncle J drove down from North Carolina for two days to join in on the excitement!

We deemed Friday, Oct 12th to be "Grammy Day" and declared a family holiday from school.  We took the kids to the Children's Museum for some fun, interactive learning.  

We attempted many times to get a good picture of 'S' with Grammy.  This was the best we got!

Grammy was totally in her element in the art room and helped 'S' be crafty too!

Saturday morning we got up bright and early to head downtown for a carriage tour.

After our carriage tour, we spent a few more hours downtown enjoying the market.  Grammy spoiled the girls by giving them each $20 to buy whatever they wanted!  They had a BLAST!!!!

Saturday evening we invited our neighbors over for some hot dogs and cupcakes to have the official birthday party for 'S'.  Our girls were so cute and made decorations for the party, birthday cards, a birthday crown for the big boy, and even provided some after dinner entertainment.

It's his party and he'll cry if he wants to!

But a cupcake makes it all better!

The oh-so-adorable little guy figured out very quickly that he was the center of attention and he could make all kinds of silly faces and we would laugh and snap pictures.  (Sadly he tried to do the same thing the following night at dinner and learned that it didn't work as well!)

The after dinner entertainment was 'B' and her new marionette puppet.  The script writer needs to polish up her skills but we still gave it a two thumbs up for effort.  The funniest line was when 'B' accidentally asked the puppet, "Are you deaf because I can't hear you?"

J gave 'S' a new football to play with.  'S' LOVES it and wants his "bootball" all the time.  Hopefully this ball will last longer than the Nerf one he had.  He figured out too quickly that he could bite chunks out of the foam.

Grammy also went and bought 'S' a new batting toy.

It didn't take him long to learn how to swing and hit.  I just love his little stance that he does!

And just because I think they are so handsome, I had to throw in a picture of my two favorite guys!  Love those boys!

As usual, the weekend came and went too quickly.  We were all sad to see Grammy leave on Monday morning.  This is the hardest part of being in the military.  I really do miss Texas and all my family back there!
