The Driskells: Christmas Highlights

Our Christmas was fun and exhausting as we loaded up the 4 kids and dog and drove to Texas to hop around and see all 3 sets of parents/grandparents! We left SC on Dec 19th and arrived back on New Year's Day. We had a great visit with everyone, saw all but two siblings and their families, and saw lots of extended family of aunts/uncles and great-grandparents that we didn't expect to see. Wonderful Christmas season!

While I would love to post the 250+ pictures that we took, I don't think anyone else would enjoy it as much as I would. So I'm trying to keep the plethora of pictures to a minimum! Bear with me.

We had our own little family Christmas at home before we hit the road. 'S' LOVES his new car tracks!

Our first stop in Texas was at 'Grammy' and 'Pop's new 53 acre ranch. We enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, playing corn hole, and just hanging out/playing with cousins and family.

('B' had a small scare while riding horses. She slide off and fell to the ground. Thankfully she wasn't hurt and she bravely got back on a horse the next day!)

Yes, Grammy is riding with 2 little ones. Cousin 'M' in front and 'N' in back. She's a brave woman!

Our second stop was with 'Nana' & 'Papa' at their new house outside Houston. 'Nana' finished her last round of radiation the week before we arrived. She is doing really well, slowly regaining her energy and strength. Her doctor has said he considers her cancer free! Yay!

We had a great visit just hanging out with them, playing games, and eating tons of food! No one came close to starving! We did learn a valuable lesson to not try and go out to eat on Christmas Eve. Plan A was closed, Plan B was too busy, Plan C was closed, Plan D gave us food, but reluctantly because they wanted to close early! That will teach me and Len to have a "great idea" to make dinner easier on Nana & Papa!

Our last stop in Texas was at 'Mia' and 'Boss's house. They were the only set of parents/grandparents that didn't move this past year. It was much colder in North Texas by the lake, but we still enjoyed our time playing and visiting. This is the first time ever that Len didn't get sick when staying at my mom's place! I think we've finally figured out the right combination of meds to keep his cat allergies under control. Yay for non-sick holidays!

We spent New Year's Eve with family/friends in Mississippi as we stopped half way through our trek back to SC. We celebrated with a few fireworks in the yard.
