Friday afternoon, the kids and I took off up the road to North Carolina to visit a family we became friends with in Virginia. Melissa, the mom, gifted me with her hand-me-down embroidery machine a few years ago that has allowed me to bless others with personalized gifts. Our girls became great friends too, so we have always enjoyed getting together.
We had a special treat this past weekend when we visited. We were able to see this awesome band in concert:
It was a Win-Win for everyone. Melissa had no desire to have her ear drums busted listen to loud music. She gladly stayed home with our 2 youngest. I was thrilled to take our older 2 and her kids to the concert! We had SO much fun! This was 'R' and 'B's first concert. 'B' wasn't so sure of the loudness, but was eventually won over by the songs she's heard so many times on the radio and at home. 'R' had a blast jumping and singing along at first, but lost steam pretty quickly. By the end of the concert she was dozing off in her seat. (Not sure how that's possible with the loud music, but she did!)
Of course the weekend went way too quickly and before we knew it, we were saying good-bye again and driving back to South Carolina. Even though it was short and quick, I am still so thankful for the time we had. We have been so blessed by this family and their friendship.
