Little did our birthday girl (or any of the girls) know that they would be getting a birthday surprise that day. We pulled our girls out of school before lunch and brought them home for a special present. They (we included the boy too, even though this was not his birthday present) opened boxes containing their Disney World magic bands.
It took a few moments to understand what they were, but in the end everyone was surprised and excited to learn that we were going to Disney . . . right then!
We had the van loaded up before we picked up the kids, so as soon as they were in on the surprise we set off for Florida! Each day our kids received some small present from us and from others. The first night there, they opened up handmade Mickey & Minnie pillow cases with their names embroidered on from our sweet friends in North Carolina!
They also received shirts, small stuffed animals, money to spend on souvenirs and cute new purses from grandma.
We spent 4 days and 5 nights there in Orlando and went to all 4 of the big Disney parks. We rode tons of rides, watched 3D shows, saw a musical, saw parades and fireworks, met characters, swam in the pool, and celebrated each girls' birthday at a restaurant of their choice. (In case you didn't know, our girls' birthdays are each a week apart. 'B' was last week, 'N' is this week, and 'R' is next week.) It was fun and exhausting!

are you glad to have waited til the kids were older? looks like a grand time except for that longhorn shirt! hahaha.
