Adventures in SC

So our trip to SC was successful and unsuccessful in different ways.

Success #1 - We made it to SC in two cars with no throw up!

Yes, you read that right.  Len and I were super thrilled just to make it to SC with everyone in their normal state of health.  The day before we left, 'R' came down with a stomach virus and spent the day at home moaning and groaning with lots of bathroom visits.  Yuck, yuck!  We travelled strategically with empty plastic bowls and big plastic baggies for those sudden emergencies.  Thankfully we didn't have to use them!

Success #2 - We got the house we wanted!!!

We found a rent house that we loved on militarybyowner several weeks before we went down to SC.  We spent a lot of time emailing back and forth with the owners and prayed over whether or not it would be the right house for us.  Thankfully the owners really liked us and once we saw the house, we were sold!  It is a very spacious 5 bedroom house!  Yeah!  We looked at the house the day after we arrived in SC and signed rental papers that day.  This house will be the nicest house Len and I have ever lived in.  We feel incredibly blessed!

(For any friends or family that are interested in a vacation spot, please come to us!  With our added space and room, we would love to host anyone who wants to visit!  Well . . . anyone that we know, of course!)

Success #3 - We were able to see several sights in the area.

We spent two mornings at the Aquarium and one afternoon walking around the waterfront area!  I think we are going to LOVE this next 3 year tour!  (Lots of pics!)

Un-Success #1 - We were unable to keep that stomach bug from spreading.

Unfortunately this stomach bug was the 3 day version, with the majority of the time spent with stomach cramps and intestinal issues.  By the 3rd day of our trip, Len was beginning to feel bad and by the 4th day of the trip 'N' had it too.

Un-Succes #2 - We weren't able to see as much as we wanted.

Obviously due to the spreading virus, our outings and sight seeing were limited and shortened.

Un-Success #3 - We came home early.

Our original plan was for the kids and I to leave on Thursday from SC and stop in NC for 2 days to visit friends.  With our spreading illness, we didn't want to infect another household, so the kids and I just drove straight home.  Major bummer!

Success #4 - We made it home safely, smoothly, and with no throw-up.

I was very worried about the ride home, especially since it was a solo-flight for me.  We had the same plastic bowls, baggies, and extra diapers ready if needed, but thankfully our trip home was very uneventful!  Len prepped the kids by reminding them to help Mommy out, and I have to brag and say that they did a great job.  When we arrived home, my little busy bees set out to help unload the car and unpack bags.  They were awesome!

Success #5 - We had a tear free, no drama, good bye to Len.

Maybe it was because I was so focused on the evil virus, but saying good-bye to Len wasn't nearly as emotional as I thought it would be.  Our girls were a little sad when we left, but we reminded ourselves that we'll see Daddy in another month when he comes back to VA for the girls' birthday party and in 2 months we'll move down to SC for good.
