We spent one week in the "Villas" (which is just a nice way of saying old condos) before we were offered a permanent house on base.
This was an answered prayer to get into a house so quickly as we were told it could be a 1 to 4 month wait! Unfortunately we didn't have our Household Goods yet so we were loaned "Aloha furniture" (which is just a nice way of saying some old furniture.). It was just the bare basics, nothing fancy, so it felt like we were camping in our house. 
(We all LOVED the plastic crinkle we slept on!!)
We were able to get transportation fairly quickly too. We bought this island beauty from the Stiff family whom we knew back in Virginia. 
They literally moved away from the island 5 days after we arrived so this jeep buy was perfect for both of us. We also borrowed a car and rented a truck to fill is as our family car till the van arrived. Our sweet old mini van finally made it here on the 15th so we got "Ol' Betsy" back!
We spent our first two weeks here getting adjusted and learning our way around. We've been able to see some amazing and beautiful sights! This island is just so gorgeous!

These guys showed up on the 9th . . .
so we've been working hard for the past week getting unpacked and settled in our house. We've copied our sweet friends, the Braddocks, and made a "Bucket List" of things we want to do and see while we're here. We don't want to miss out on the scenic opportunities God has made here in paradise!
