For anyone reading our blog who doesn't know much about us, we are a Christian family. And it goes without saying that every church and denomination do baptism a little bit differently. For us baptism is a beautiful, symbolic ceremony that shows the heart commitment to follow Jesus Christ. The water is just normal water - nothing holy about it. And the words and actions aren't anything too terribly special either. But it's a public confession of your spiritual commitment to the Lord.
'R' has been asking about baptism for quite a while and her heart has been eager to begin this new relationship. Len and I began a study with her a few months ago, and then today she made it official in front of our church family that she wants to walk with Christ. We are so excited for her as she begins this journey. We've made it very clear to her that this is only the beginning. We are all still learning and growing in our walk with God. She's just taken the first step!
