Another foray into the adventure that is parenting:
Tonight we sat down for dinner and said our usual prayer. Then just as we all picked up our forks to take our first bite, our five-year old "R" asked what must have been a pressing question for her, "Mommy, do cats exercise?" Mommy handled the question admirably with a simple reply, "We're eating now, sweetheart." Let's just say it's lucky Daddy hadn't taken a bite yet. To truly appreciate the randomness of this question (which is pretty random in any circumstance) you have to know that at no time during the day had the subjects of cats or exercise even been discussed by anyone in the family. None of us had even seen a cat or witnessed someone exercise. But this is the kind of randomness that we have come to expect. "R" asks the random questions, while "B" just does random things.
Of course while this question seems random to us, perhaps in the mind of a five-year old feline obesity is a real issue worthy of thought and discussion. Who knows, maybe when I ask her if she washed her hands after going potty she thinks I'm being random as well. (Len)

That is a great story! Thanks for sharing! People who don't like kids or want to have their own don't have a depe understanding of how life can really be random and funny and crazy all at the same time!

Well..... DO cats exercise? I need to be prepared for that one! I can't wait for questions like that. Right now we are stuck with.. Why? and What is that? which is usually followed by another Why?
