Our family didn't go anywhere for the 4th of July weekend. We enjoyed a nice cook-out with some church friends on Friday night, and the girls stayed up late to watch some fireworks. On Saturday we wanted to do something a bit more fun than just sit around the house, so we inflated our small pool and set it up in the backyard. The girls thought it was the best thing ever - like they'd never seen water before. "R" and "B" played and played for over an hour with their crazy imaginative stories of being zoo keeper, playing with babies, hiding, running from who knows what, splashing, jumping, etc. They were hilarious to watch! They even made us proud by showing off their swimming lesson skills and putting their faces under water! Yeah! Money well spent. "N" joined in the water fun, but didn't like the cold water as much as her older sisters. Once all the water fun had been had, we used our sandbox buckets and watered our backyard! Something it always needs. The girls thought it was great, like a game, and enjoyed making mud puddles wherever they could. I had to remind them several times that we were watering the grass, not the dirt! But whatever - they had fun and it was productive at the same time! Len snapped a few pictures of our water fun. It was a great afternoon in the backyard!
