Texas Tour '09

For those of you who didn't know, the girls and I left Virginia on June 30th for a 3 week Texas tour. We flew into San Antonio and spent a few days at my dad's house. Then we drove out to east Texas to spend a week with my mom. We arrived on the 3rd and had a chance to celebrate with some fireworks off the dock.

Then my mom joined me for a crazy 2 day drive out to Abilene to visit our old church family and friends. (I have no doubt my mother loves me after that - not that I ever did!!!)

Then we spent the rest of the week playing at the lake.

We took a tour of Tiger Creek refuge and saw some amazing big cats! (Very cool, yet also a little creepy when one of the tigers kept pacing back and forth eyeing the small and weak in the crowd - which would be MY children!)

We picked LOTS of fresh blueberries.

And some ate more than others.

Plus we spent most of the week just enjoying family and our time together!

We're now on to the second grandparent stop on our tour. We're visiting Len's parents north of the Austin area. We'll spend a week here and then we'll head back to my dad's again. We're only half way through the adventure and having a BLAST so far! More pictures to come!
